Welcome to my website, where I share the exciting journey of my internship experience in exploring AI-driven healthcare research. Over the past few months, I had the incredible opportunity to work at the AI Medical Sensing and Diagnostic Laboratory, located at the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) in Holon, Israel.
During my internship, I delved into the fascinating world of AI-driven medical research, where advanced technology meets the needs of the healthcare industry. Collaborating with talented researchers and professionals, I had the privilege to work on various projects that pushed the boundaries of science and technology.
One of the main focuses of my internship was utilizing data analysis techniques to gain valuable insights in healthcare. Leveraging machine learning algorithms, I conducted in-depth analysis on complex datasets to improve medical diagnostics and decision-making. From preparing and fine-tuning the data to selecting the best models, I honed my skills in creativity, precision, and attention to detail.
The specific project I worked on involved developing a software tool for studying the biometric features of autism in mice, in collaboration with the University of Ben-Gurion. Traditionally, the analysis of mouse behavior in autism research relied on manual observations, which had limitations in terms of subjectivity, human error, and labor-intensive processes.
To address these challenges, our goal was to develop a sophisticated software tool based on computer vision and advanced machine learning algorithms. This tool would automate the analysis process and enable researchers to classify and analyze biometric features in mice more accurately and efficiently. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, we aimed to uncover patterns, correlations, and behavioral markers that may be indicative of autism in mice.
The overarching goal of our project was to develop a software based on computer vision that can accurately recognize patterns of behavior disorders and interactions in mice. This software leveraged advanced machine learning algorithms and data analysis techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the diagnosis process.
By automating the analysis process, our software tool aimed to significantly reduce the time and effort required for behavioral analysis, allowing researchers to process larger datasets and obtain more accurate results. This would not only enhance the reliability of the diagnosis process but also contribute to the advancement of the field, paving the way for new insights into autism spectrum disorders and other diseases and disorders that can be studied using mouse models.
Throughout my internship, I had the privilege to work closely with Dr. Gaddi Blumrosen, a leading expert in the field. Under his guidance, I gained practical experience in machine learning and data science. I learned the importance of breaking down complex data problems into manageable components, employing data augmentation techniques, and constantly adjusting our research trajectory based on intermediate results. Automating processes proved crucial in optimizing productivity and resource utilization.
Beyond the technical aspects, my internship provided ample opportunities for personal and professional growth. Engaging in valuable discussions, learning from world-leading experts, and connecting with industry professionals expanded my horizons and broadened my understanding of the field. These experiences have not only enhanced my technical abilities but have also instilled in me a passion for continuous learning and a drive to contribute innovative solutions to complex problems.
