My Internship: AI in Healthcare Research

During my internship at the AI Medical Sensing and Diagnostic Lab in Holon, Israel, I explored how artificial intelligence can transform medical research. Working alongside world-class experts, I helped bridge the gap between advanced technology and clinical needs.

The Project: Tracking Autism Features in Mice

My main focus was a collaboration with Ben-Gurion University. Traditionally, studying mouse behavior to understand autism required researchers to watch hours of video manually, a slow process prone to human error.

To solve this, we developed a computer vision tool to automate the analysis. By using machine learning, the software can accurately identify behavioral patterns and social interactions in mice. This doesn’t just save time; it allows researchers to analyze much larger datasets, leading to more reliable insights into autism spectrum disorders.

Personal Growth

Working under the guidance of Dr. Gaddi Blumrosen. , I sharpened my skills in data science and machine learning. I learned how to break down complex data problems, use data augmentation, and-most importantly-pivot research based on real-time results.

Beyond the code, being part of this international research community was a huge growth experience. It turned my interest in AI-driven healthcare into a real passion for building innovative solutions to complex medical problems.
